The Saints Study Centre supports schools in improving the life chances of children through developing each student’s motivation and confidence by improving their personal and social skills and attitudes to learning. The centre assists young people to become more effective learners, focusing on numeracy, literacy and information and communication technology (ICT) in a sporting context.
The centre promotes the value of learning and that it is ‘cool to succeed’. This is done through the Playing for Success programme and by developing the daytime use at the centre.
Learning Opportunities
At the centre, children explore and experience the latest PC and Apple technology in a flexible and independent way using wireless connectivity, broadband technology and ‘RM Community Connect’ software. Children can access high quality learning resources within the centre, at home and in the school environment. Learning opportunities extend beyond the walls of the Study Centre at Franklin’s Gardens with children using notebooks, tablet PCs and digital technology on a remote network in the stadium.
The Learning Programme
The learning programme consists of collaborative video conferencing projects, interactive whiteboard competitions, team building challenges, web design, video editing and weekly goal setting. Schools, parents and pupils value the work of the centre expressing gains in pupils’ self-esteem, confidence and motivation on top of basic skill development.

A Saints celebration evening awaits the children at the end of the course with tickets, prizes, coaching sessions, and certificates presented by Saints players. A further sense of personal achievement and success comes from children opening the match day programme or Saints magazine to reveal their contribution on the PfS website.
