| Some legendary players have worn the famous red shirts of the British and Irish Lions as well as the black, green and gold. Leading the total number of Lions appearances is Dickie Jeeps with 13 from his three tours. Jeeps is unique in this list for being capped by the Lions before playing for England.
There are several other players who have toured more than once - Jeff Butterfield, Keith Savage and Matt Dawson, who has also gone into Lions folklore for his spectacular try in the first test against the Springboks in Cape Town, 1997. In Ian McGeechan Saints also provided the head coach for this successful tour of South Africa as well as five players, the highest number to come from the club for any one tour.
The most recent Lion was Steve Thompson, who won two caps during the 2005 tour of New Zealand.
