Lloyds TSB, title sponsor of the Six Nations championship, is to continue its successful grassroots initiative - the Lloyds TSB Rugby Club Tour. Following last year's success, in 2002 the tour promises to be bigger and better than before. First stop in this year's campaign is Northampton Saints on Friday, February 8. Lloyds TSB senior manager of group sponsorship Jon Phelps, said: "We are keen to recreate the great atmosphere of a Six Nations weekend around the country by offering rugby fans the chance to participate in a number of events taking place at their local club. This will underline our commitment to the rugby community and we are very excited at the prospect of visiting some real heartlands of the game as part of our efforts to establish this as part of our sponsorship of the championship". Lloyds TSB has come up with a format that will see them link with leading rugby clubs to provide a wide-range of initiatives in the Lloyds TSB Rugby Club Tour. There should be plenty of entertainment on offer with a sports quiz featuring the likes of Matt Dawson and Paul Grayson, with the Sky Sports presenter Mark Durden-Smith on hand to host the contest that takes place at 7.30pm at Franklin Gardens on Friday, February 8. There will also be some great prizes on offer, courtesy of Lloyds TSB, including signed merchandise, match tickets and rugby memorabilia. The competition will really hot up by the weekend with a mini rugby tournament for eight to 11 year olds from local clubs. There will also be a great opportunity to have your photograph taken with the Lloyds TSB Six Nations championship trophy. |
