Senior Internationals Sign Up For More Saints Fare
Northampton Saints' senior international pairing of Andrew Blowers and John Leslie have extended their contracts with the club.
Former All Black Blowers, aged 27, arrived at Franklin's Gardens in November 2000 and has become an integral part of the Northampton Saints squad ever since. He has made 63 appearances since his debut against Leeds and has scored seven tries. More than that though, Blowers consistently tops the tackle count table for each game he plays in.
Leslie, who retired from international rugby with Scotland last season, is one of the club's current co-captains alongside Budge Pountney. At 32, he is one of the most experienced players in the squad and has played 52 games for Saints and scored nine tries since his move from Newcastle Falcons in December 2000.
Northampton Saints operations director John Steele said: "Andrew Blowers has been one of the most outstanding Saints players of recent years. His example on and off the pitch is exemplary and I am delighted he has committed himself to the club for a further two years."
He added: "We are very lucky to have benefited from the experience of John Leslie both as a leader and a talented player. His experience in next year's World Cup period will be invaluable at the club."
