Vilk called up for Paris leg of sevens tour
Vilk in action at the Middlesex Sevens

England have made three changes to the Sevens squad who finished runners up in the Emirates Airline London Sevens at Twickenham last weekend, ahead of the final leg of the IRB Sevens in Paris, including a call-up for Northampton Saints centre Andy Vilk.

Three of the squad who were defeated by South Africa in the final on Sunday are part of England's Churchill Cup squad who will travel to Canada, resulting in three exciting youngsters being given a chance to gain sevens experience in Paris this weekend. Andy Vilk of Northampton Saints, Delon Armitage of London Irish and Rob Vickerman of Leeds Tykes are called into the 12-man squad who travel to Paris tomorrow.

England Sevens coach Mike Friday was disappointed by the loss at Twickenham but is looking forward to finishing the season on a high in France.

"Everyone is bitterly disappointed to have come so close to retaining our Twickenham title but I am pleased with our overall performance at Twickenham. It was great experience for the players, especially the youngsters who hadn't pulled an England jersey on at Twickenham before, to play in such of such a big and enthusiastic crowd, and to face such challenging opposition.

"Having started the season off with a win in Dubai, England are aiming to do the same this weekend and win in Paris. I am pleased that Andy and Delon both get a chance to play, having been part of the wider squad for London, and congratulate Rob Vickerman on earning his first England Sevens cap. "
