Friday is one of the RFU’s nine National Academy coaches that will be visiting each of the 14 regional academies to take part in specialist coaching alongside each of the club’s academy managers.
Saints Academy will also be visited by the likes of former Leicester Tigers director of rugby John Wells and hooker Dorian West, ex-Sale director of rugby Jim Mallinder, Leeds’ former coach Jon Callard and ex-Lions lock Nigel Redman, who all have specific coaching responsibilities within the RFU National Academy coaching system.
Friday will be targeting use of space and scrum-half skills.
Saints Academy director James Sinclair said: “It is great to have a player and coach of Mike’s experience coming in to reinforce some of the principles of the game. It is a good opportunity for us to increase our knowledge of a specialist area. We look forward to welcoming Mike to the club.” |
