Steve Thompson to return at hooker for Wanderers' home game tonight
Thompson will get 20 minutes at hooker this evening

Northampton Saints Academy coaches have selected a strong side for tonight's Guinness A League game against Newcastle, which is being played at Franklin's Gardens - KO 7.30pm. Grant Seely will lead the side, which includes nine first team squad members in the starting XV and three more on the bench, including club captain Steve Thompson

Seely will be joined by Matt Lord, Andy Vilk, Rhodri Davies, Luke Myring, Johnny Howard, Seamus Mallon, John Rudd and Luke Harbut for tonight's game which is free to season ticket holders. Brett Sturgess, Ross Beattie and Steve Thompson will be awaiting some action on the bench.

Thompson is expected to get 20 minutes at hooker sometime this evening.

This just the second time the Wanderers have played at home this season following a stunning 36-0 win over Leicester a fortnight ago.

Currently in third place in the Northern Conference, a win could see the Wanderers vie for a top spot with Leicester Tigers.

The rest of the team are made up fo senior and junior Academy members.
