Leicester Tigers v Northampton Saints Powergen Cup game selected to be shown live on BBC Grandstand

Saints� game against Leicester Tigers at Welford Road in the third round of the Powergen Cup has been selected to be shown live to millions of viewers on BBC Grandstand.Both sides could go through to the semi-final stage of the Powergen Cup depending on the result of what could be a classic east Midlands derby. As a result, the game will kick off at the earlier time of 2.30pm on Saturday, December 3, 2005.

There are a variety of permutations for pool D with either Saints or Tigers coming out as the winners. They are as follows:

� Northampton Saints win � Northampton go through regardless of bonus points.
� Northampton lose but get a losing bonus point and try bonus point � Northampton go through on 11 points.
� Leicester, Dragons and Northampton all finish on nine points � Northampton go through as they have more match points from the games between them.
� Leicester and Northampton finish on nine points � Leicester go through as they beat Northampton.
� Leicester and Northampton finish on 10 points � Leicester go through as they beat Northampton.
The winners of all four pools will play in back-to-back semi-finals at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday, March 4, 2006.
