Ruptured Achilles for Selborne Boome
Boome in action against Leinster

Northampton Saints lock/back-row Selborne Boome will have an operation tomorrow after he ruptured his left Achilles tendon during the second half of Saturday's narrow league victory against London Irish. The former Springbok, who just collapsed as he stepped up to the lineout, had to be helped from the field by physio Helen Eaton and Dr Steve Goulding. It is uncertain how long Boome will be out of action for until the surgery has been completed.

Meanwhile Academy-produced centre Andy Vilk, who is a member of the current core England sevens squad, will go on loan to Coventry RFC tomorrow to ensure he plays regular first team rugby. He will continue to train with the Saints squad though and has been named on the wing ahead of tonight's Wanderers' game against Leeds Tykes at Franklin's Gardens - KO 7.30pm.

Academy No 8 Mark Easter will also return to Nottingham RFC this weekend as part of his dual-contract with Saints and Nottingham.
