The Kick Smoking Into Touch programme enables young people to make an informed choice about smoking and the prizes on offer from the Saints also help to give them a lasting memento and therefore a constant reminder of the reasons not to smoke.
The launch on Wednesday was held at Franklin's Gardens and supported by club captain Steve Thompson, who said: “It must be really difficult for youngsters to stand up to their peers and decide not to smoke but I hope that the efforts of kick smoking into touch and myself being involved with the project that they can find a way to resist. Smoking is the first step on the ladder for many young people and that ladder can lead to many other aspects that can have a detrimental effect on their health.
"We hope that the project will help to make people aware of the dangers of smoking around their children, the Saints and I are very pleased to be a major part of the Smoke Free Homes project in Northamptonshire.”
Presentations of KSIT to schools around the county will start on 14th November at Earls Barton School.
We hope that the project will help to make people aware of the dangers of smoking and the dangers of smoking around their children. The Saints are very pleased to be a major part of the Smoke Free Homes project in Northamptonshire.
