Record-breaking Voyce ready to take on Saints

Wasps' winger Tom Voyce has returned returns from England training to take up his place in the starting line-up for the 57th time in succession. Voyce equalled Jamie Noon's record of 56 successive appearances last weekend, and so will break that record when he runs out against Saints tomorrow. Voyce said "It's been a great run, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I've been very lucky to be able to stay injury-free, but it's also an achievement in consistency of form, and I'm very proud to have maintained my form for so long. I've had a great run at Wasps and just aim keep myself at the top of my form and earn my place in the starting line up for the rest of this season at least."

McGeechan has named an unchanged set of backs from the team that beat Bristol last Friday, though there are changes in the pack.

In the absence of Raphael Ibanez, on international duty with France, Joe Ward gets his first run out with the 1XV, having impressed in an 'A' XV game against Cambridge University on Monday.

Jon Dawson is rested, making room for Peter Bracken to come off the bench, where he is replaced by Alistair McKenzie.

Also on the bench is replacement scrum-half Warren Fury, recovered from a back injury and named in the 22 for the first time this season. Simon Shaw is also named, having made a good recovery from a lower back problem that saw him ruled out of contention for England selection this weekend.

On his team McGeechan said, "Once more we have a healthy mixture of youth and experience in the 22 this week.

"Joe Ward is getting is his first run out in the English Premiership, while Tom Voyce is making a record breaking 57th successive start, and both will be equally keen to do well against a skilful Saints side. It's also good to have Ayoola Erinle and Tom Rees getting back to full match fitness and finding their form again after injury.

"The international season is a great opportunity for new and experienced players alike. The players have been working together very positively, and got an important win last week. It's essential that we maintain that positive input from everyone in the squad and keep the momentum going, especially with our internationals out."
