Lamont and Thompson should be fit for weekend but Myring heads for operation
Co-captain Steve Thompson in action on Saturday

Northampton Saints international duo Steve Thompson and Sean Lamont should be available for selection for Friday's game despite taking knocks during Saturday's victory over Bristol. Thompson bruised his knee and Lamont went over on his ankle but both are hoped to be able to recover in time for the last European Challenge Cup pool game against Viadana.

Luke Myring, however, will have an operation tomorrow to repair damage to his left shoulder. The Academy product started three games for Saints this season; the first two, in the place of Carlos Spencer. He started Saturday's game in the more unfamiliar position of centre, but only lasted 23 minutes before he had to leave the field injured.

The surgery will mean Myring will miss the rest of the 2005/06 season.
