Spencer wins GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP Player of the Month for March

Spencer - a worthy winner for March

Northampton Saints' fly-half Carlos Spencer and Saracen�s head coach Mike Ford have been named GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP Player and Head Coach of the Month for March following their impressive performances in the GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP. Spencer said: "It is a great honour to be voted GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP player of the month by fellow players competing in this league, but our results in March were far more important to me and the rest of the team. I have really enjoyed my first season in the Premiership among a good set of players and friends at Northampton, but now we must turn our attention to this month�s action, starting with Bath on Saturday."

The voting panel chairman, Sky�s Miles Harrison, said: "When Carlos Spencer came to the Guinness Premiership from New Zealand it was a signing which excited all watchers of the league. Carlos has not disappointed and Northampton fans must be delighted to be able to see one of the world�s greatest rugby entertainers on a weekly basis. To many, it was almost inevitable, that Spencer would win one of these awards before the season was out.�

The voting panel consists of five members of the rugby media and the PRA representative for each of the 12 GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP clubs.
