Moulton College student Lawes has already made his Wanderers debut in a friendly game against Saracens – an opposition side that featured Andy Farrell, Richard Hill and Thomas Castaignede. He has played in a further four second team games since then. He was part of the team that defeated Leeds last Monday.
Junior Saints Academy coach Grant Seely said: “We recommended him to the England set-up and he was called up to the England U18s conference squad for their game against Munster last weekend. He is now been selected to attend the Junior National Academy’s training camp and we are all delighted for him.
“Courtney has great potential. He is a very athletic and has good ball skills with an excellent physicality for his age. He is part of an excellent group of players within out Junior Saints Academy and we have no doubt that others will follow in Courtney’s footsteps.”
The Junior National Academy’s training camp will run from December 17 to 21 in Bath led by coaches that include Dorian West, Simon Hardy and Conor O’Shea.
