Cohen had been re-called to Brian Ashton's national squad on Tuesday. However he has pulled out of the tour for family reasons.

"Ben was very pleased to hear the news that he would be touring with England," said Ashton. "But he has reflected on his selection and his current personal circumstances. His wife is expecting twins later in the year so I understand his reasons for withdrawing from the tour and from contention for the Rugby World Cup squad to spend time with her.

"I will consider my options for a replacement for the South Africa tour and make an announcement on Tuesday, May 8th."
