Carmarthen-born Emms arrived at Franklin’s Gardens in December 2004 having played for Llanelli and Bath. He made 25 Saints appearances in the subsequent two years before leaving the club mid-way through last season. However he remained in the area and has rejoined the Saints on a one-year part-time contract and will combine his playing with his job at commercial property company Lambert Smith Hampton.
“It’s great to be back,” said Emms. “I’ve got over last season’s injuries and am looking forward to playing with a great group of lads and for an exciting team of coaches.
“I’m also looking forward to a successful season with the Saints. I’m also grateful to Lambert Smith Hampton, who have been very understanding in my wanting to combine careers.”
“Simon is a familiar face around Franklin’s Gardens,” said Saints director of rugby Jim Mallinder. “He’s very experienced and is a useful asset in the bolstering and further strengthening of our squad.” |
