In the final game of their four week development tour of Australia, which has seen the England young guns defeat the ARU National Talent Identification Squad (18-7), New South Wales Combined High School (71-17) and Australia Schools A 17-16, the team led by Sedbergh School & Sale Sharks number 8 Carl Fearns will be looking for a clean sweep.
Fearns will lead a side which will sees London Irish’s James Clark start at hooker, Daniel Williams, Calum Clark, Tom Sargeant also being given the nod to start in the pack along with Lawes.
In the backs, there is a new centre combination for this match with Mike Stanley from Oaklands College & Saracens and Luke Eves of Colston’s & Bristol starting. Sebastian Stegmann of Cranleigh School and Harlequins also starts on the wing with Oliver Frost from Bromsgrove School & Worcester Warriors starting at scrum-half.
England coach Chris Kibble said: “This is the final game of what has been a successful development tour and we are looking to leave Australia on a high note. This fixture, however, will also be a tough match, every game in Australia is, with Australia Schools I am sure looking to stop us in our tracks.”
Saints Academy Manager Rob Hunter is delighted for Lawes.
"He's an exciting prospect who has come a long way in a short time," he said. "All of the Academy staff are very proud for Courtney and his family about his representing England, and all the lads are looking forward to his getting involved at Franklin's Gardens when he returns."
