On Monday, November 19th ‘An Audience With….Sir Ian Botham’ will give the Northampton public the chance to quiz a true sporting legend about a career that took in 102 test matches, 5,200 test runs and 383 test wickets, not forgetting an Ashes victory over Australia in 1981 regarded as one of the best series in history.
Knighted earlier this year for services to charity as well as his achievements in cricket, Botham received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the BBC Sport Personality of the Year Awards in 2004 and was appointed an OBE in 1992.
He is also regarded as one of the most astute commentators of the game and works as an analyst for Sky Sports.
“We’re delighted that Sir Ian is coming to Franklin’s Gardens,” said Saints chief executive Allan Robson. “It is not that often that we have the opportunity of hosting a genuine legend such as Sir Ian. It will be a special evening.”
Hosted by England test selector Geoff Miller, doors open for ‘An Audience With….Sir Ian Botham’ at 7pm with a three-course meal served shortly after. Tickets cost £75 per person (+VAT) or £750 +VAT for a table of 10. Tickets are selling quickly so early booking is advised.
