Saints youngsters star for England U16s A
By Grant Seely
Five Junior Saints Academy players represented England U16 A in their impressive 52-10 victory over USA U17s at Millfield School yesterday. The U16s Tournament is held at Millfield every year over the Easter period. The victory came after a narrow 33-25 loss to France on Tuesday at Torr RFC.

No 8. Sam Heygate (Guilsborough School) captained the side while team mates Will Dunkley (Bedford School) and Charlie Sadler (St Benedicts College) scored tries. Sam Farmer (Bedford School) and Mike Hogan (King Edward VII) also represented England and all are hoping to be selected for the last match against Wales on Sunday.

Two other JSA players, Jamie Elliott (Bedford School) and Mike Haywood (Tendring Tech College), represented England U16s in Lyon in the Four Nations last week. Elliott also came off the bench during the Saints U18's win over the USA Eagles U18s on Tuesday.

Credit goes to Saints EPDG Managers Barry Burgess and Matt Hyndman in leading the development of our U13-U16 players. 17 of our U16’s have been training with the Junior Saints Academy twice a week to accelerate their development for the rest of this season which will finish at the April.

The Saints Academy is sponsored by LIO.
