Sean Lamont and Euan Murray have been selected in Scotland's starting line up for this Saturday's World Cup warm-up match against Ireland at Murrayfield.
Captain Jason White and scrum-half Mike Blair return from injury and the match also sees Chris Paterson starting an international at stand-off for the first time since the French visited Murrayfield three years ago. Saturday will be Paterson's 75th cap, the fourth Scot to reach that landmark.
Scotland head coach Frank Hadden said: "Inevitably much will be read into this selection given the proximity to the Rugby World Cup and the trimming of our squad next Tuesday to the final 30 who will be on duty for the tournament.
"But what's uppermost in my mind, as ever, is picking a team to win an international match as we look to generate momentum going into the World Cup."
