Northampton Saints today announced that Robbie Kydd will possibly miss the rest of the 2007/08 season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon suffered against Coventry on Saturday.
Robbie Kydd is helped off the field by Saints physios Cliff Eaton and Dan Lewindon
The centre, who played for Scotland ‘A’ in last season’s Churchill Cup, sustained the injury to his right ankle in the first half of Saints’ win. He has been operated on by Mr Bill Ribbans and the Saints medical team hope that Kydd will be back for pre-season training.
Kydd had played seven times in Saints’ NL1 campaign and scored three tries.
“I’m sorry that Robbie’s season has been ended in this way,” said Saints’ director of rugby Jim Mallinder. “He had been playing well and was an important part of the team’s midfield. We all wish him a speedy recovery.”
