Northampton Saints Plc, the parent company of Northampton Rugby Football Club, has today announced its interim results for the six months ended 30 November 2007.
Compared to the same six-month period last year the net loss was reduced by £6,267 to £291,376.
Following relegation from the Premiership last season, turnover was down by £458,801 to £4,654,289 for the same period although expenditure was also reduced by £465,068.
Chairman Keith Barwell said: “Frankly, we are taking a tight grip in all areas and I feel comfortable that we are in control of our own destiny.”
Northampton Saints are unbeaten in all competitions so far this season with 20 wins from 20 games played in National League One and a place in the quarter final of the EDF Energy National Trophy. The club has also broken the attendance record for National League One twice with crowds of 12,868 and 13,464 at its Franklin’s Gardens ground and currently have the third highest attendance average in the country.
