There is still plenty to play for in the last remaining round of matches in the Saints Summer Touch League! The fifth set of fixtures will be played next Monday evening at the BBOB club in Northampton and all are welcome.
After two weeks of seeding, the 18 teams were divided into three leagues. And Monday evening's final round of fixtures has a huge bearing on who goes into the league semi-finals.
The top four teams in each league will go into the semi-finals with the fifth and sixth-placed teams battling it out to avoid the wooden spoons.
Pick of the games in week five is the match up of the Bulldogs and Stowcestrians. These two teams have dominated League One and this game will decide who tops the table. Bugbrooke RFC are already guaranteed a semi-final place while the fourth spot will go to either the Tigers or BBOB 1, who also play each other on Monday. A win or draw is enough for the Tigers while only a win will do for BBOB 1.
Undefeated Southam have already secured their number one position in League Two. But the next four teams - BBOB 2, CBS Ltd 1, Abbey MK and Buckingham RFC - have a shout of reaching the semi-finals with only two points separating them.
The two teams at the top of League Three, Garden Gladiators and CBS Ltd 2, also go head-to-head in a table-topping decider at 7pm. The Comets have all but guaranteed third place but COYS.com and Unison will be keeping a close eye on each other's games as only one of these teams will finish fourth.
The semi-finals and 5th/6th--placed playoffs take place the following Monday (Aug 4th) with the finals a week later.
The finals will be preceded by a Touch Rugby Festival for all of the other teams who have made the Summer Touch League such a huge success. There will also be a barbeque and entertainment, as well as the league presentations. Everyone is welcome to come along that evening to cheer on their friends and family and have a good evening to round off the summer!
