The Saints can confirm that the players attending the 'Why The Whistle Went Scrum Special' on January 27th will be ANDY LONG and REGARDT DREYER.
In Andy Long and Regardt Dreyer there couldn't be two more suitable men to reveal the darkest secrets of the front row and provide a very experienced and global take on the subject.
With 123 caps for his former club Newcastle Falcons and 2 caps for England, Andy Long will offer a very experienced and frank view of scrummaging from a stalwart of the English game. Dreyer will bring a slightly alternative view to the debate having learnt his trade in Johannesburg and having spent much of his career playing Super 14 rugby for the Cheetahs.
These two seasoned front row men will be joined by the Saints' old friend Mike Mortimer. Mortimer, aficionado of rugby laws and one time prop and referee, will be the counter balance to the players and reveal how the referee interprets what is going on in the front row.
'Why The Whistle Went Scrum Special' will be a fascinating evening and will provide an insight into the mystery of the front row from a number of contrasting angles.
