Northampton Saints is now regularly competing at the top end of Aviva Premiership Rugby and in the knockout stages of the Heineken Cup.
In order to host a home Heineken Cup quarter final Franklin's Gardens needs a minimum capacity of 15,000. At present the stadium cannot hold that many people. In Aviva Premiership Rugby Franklin's Gardens has been averaging at 98 percent of capacity for the past five years, clearly demonstrating the desire to watch world class rugby in Northampton.
The Sturtridge Pavilion is the oldest part of the current stadium and has been extended in a piecemeal fashion over the past 50 years. It needs replacing with a state-of-the-art stand which will both complete the stadium and ensure that Franklin's Gardens remains not just the envy of clubs throughout the country but somewhere which continues to receive accolades from fans and the media alike for its facilities and unique atmosphere.
We want to stay here. Franklin's Gardens is our home. We are proud to be a part of the fabric of Northampton and proud to take the town's name onto a global stage. This is why we want this development to take place.
Club, community, town and county will all benefit from the additional revenues which will be generated by the new North Stand.

- Giving businesses world class hospitality facilities in which to entertain their clients and showcase the sport on their doorstep, generating potential inward investment into Northampton
- Giving the businesses of St James and Sixfields a potential new 2,000 customers every two weeks for 10 months of the year
