Club News Improvements made to bars and catering ahead of Edinburgh friendly

Following the recent JP Morgan Premiership Sevens Series a number of major improvements have been made within the Franklin’s Gardens bars by Kudos Catering, the Saints’ official caterers. Some of the improvements were planned, while others were in direct response to the feedback received after the Sevens Series.

Tomorrow night’s friendly against Edinburgh will see the first appearance in 2013/14 of the Village marquee, complete with outside decking and seating.

Meanwhile, in the Rodber Suite more dispense points for Carlsberg and Guinness have been installed ahead of the Edinburgh game, which will in turn be replaced by multi-pint pourers before the Aviva Premiership opener against Exeter on September 7th. The Rodber Suite will continue to offer guest seasonal ales at matches this coming campaign.

All Franklin’s Gardens cellar equipment is being upgraded, with more beer ordered in bigger kegs, meaning less time is spent by staff changing barrels. The tills are also being reprogrammed to provide better data, thereby informing the ordering process. Along with these operational improvements more robust training processes have been implemented for new staff, with a recruitment drive creating a bigger pool of staff for match days and alleviating the reliance on one off agency staff.

The Rodber Suite now has a licence for Under-14s, while the team will continue to eat in the Carvery area after matches.

Stuart Lee, Catering Manager for Kudos at Franklin’s Gardens, says that this improvement program will continue throughout the season.

“The JP Morgan Sevens taught us a few lessons ahead of the new season,” he commented. “We should have performed better that night, and are determined to ensure we provide a positive experience for every game of the season.

“The Edinburgh game will give us the opportunity to try a few things out and refine our operations; and while it will be an ongoing process we hope that supporters will see positive differences.

We are committed to providing as high a standard of service as we can and encourage supporters to give us their feedback throughout the season.”
