Rugby News, Academy News Quintet represent Saints on dual registration

Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi had the biggest smile of the Saints’ dual registration five over the weekend, starting Coventry’s 63-21 win over Blackheath, but an Alex Day try couldn’t prevent Moseley from slipping to defeat, the scrum-half one of four Saints involved in that Championship clash with Leeds.

At the Butts Park Arena, prop Hobbs-Awoyemi was part of a dominant forwards display that set the platform for Coventry’s biggest victory since 2002/03. The 10-try result keeps the fourth placed side right in the hunt at the top of National League One.

It wasn’t to be such a happy weekend for Moseley, however, who are still searching for their first win of the 2013/14 season after Leeds won 27-18 at Billesley Common.

Loose head Tom Warren and fly half Will Hooley both started the game, while Danny Herriott and Day both came from the bench in the second half, but the latter’s score proved mere consolation on a disappointing afternoon.
