Academy News Saints help Moseley to first win
Moseley picked up their first Championship win of the season with a battling win over relegation rivals Ealing on Friday evening, with no little help from five Saints on dual registration duty for the trip to West London.
One of those, fly half Will Hooley, opened the scoring with an early penalty and also added the conversion of Mose’s first try, while Adam Parkins was a solid presence on the tight-head before being replaced by Gardens team mate Danny Herriott late on.
There was also game time for Alex Day and Tom Warren from the bench as Moseley struck a huge blow in opening up a seven-point cushion on their hosts for the evening at the foot of the Championship table.
Elsewhere, Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi continued his run of starts for fourth placed Coventry in National League One but couldn’t prevent his loan side from slipping to just a third league defeat of the season at Worthing.
Another Academy prop, Harry Morley, crucially got on the scoresheet for Birmingham as they picked up a losing bonus point in a 34-27 defeat on the road at Harrogate.
