Club News Hartley wins Aviva Movember competition
Dylan Hartley has been presented with a commemorative picture of his infamous Mo by Premiership Rugby title sponsors Aviva as a celebration of his efforts to raise money and awareness during Movember.
Aviva asked fans to vote on Facebook for the best Mo in the Aviva Premiership and Hartley was a runaway winner with hundreds of Likes, Commends and Shares. Nearly 3,000 fans cast votes in all, with Hartley seeing off competition from the multiple Mo styles of James Haskell and the mighty handlebar of Leicester Tigers’ George Catchpole.
As well as giving Hartley a souvenir of his stellar effort, Aviva will be donating an extra £2,000 to his Movember account, taking his total fundraising to over £14,000! In all, Hartley’s Northampton Saints Front Mo Union team raised nearly £47,000, over half the grand total of £95,666 raised by all 12 Aviva Premiership clubs, with Wasps MoBros in second spot with £24,591.
“I’m very happy to be the Aviva Mo Champion and the £2,000 prize is a welcome addition to a huge fundraising total,” Hartley commented. “Thanks to everyone who has supported.
“For the whole team, the wider community and the fans to get involved was brilliant.
“It’s really humbling that people got behind the Northampton Saints Front Mo Union to raise nearly £47,000 and I’m looking forward to next year already!”
Aviva's Movember involvement comes as part of a long-standing dedication to raising awareness of men's health issues and coincides with the brand releasing previously unpublished details of its claims relating to male-specific cancers on www.aviva.co.uk/health-insurance at the beginning of November.
