Academy News Betts buoys Chinnor, Herriott wins with Loughborough
Two of the Saints’ dual registration contingent tasted victory over the weekend including back row forward Harry Betts, who was the hero for Chinnor as he registered the winning try against Bournemouth.
The Academy flanker – who has seen plenty of Wanderers action already in 2013/14 – was only in his second week with the National League 2 side, but came from the bench to hand the side a 22-17 win late on.
The other loanee to enjoy success on Saturday afternoon was Danny Herriott, the prop starting as Loughborough saw off Henley in National League One by a 16-10 scoreline.
It wasn’t to be a happy weekend however for a further trio from the Saints Academy. In the British and Irish Cup, a Moseley side including Alex Day and Adam Parkins slipped to a 21-18 defeat at Ealing, while Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi came from the bench in a 39-30 loss for Coventry at Doncaster.
