Rugby News Centre switch for North against French
Wales have turned to George North to solve their injury problems at 13 for Friday night’s meeting with France, the wing moving into midfield as he did to great effect for the Saints earlier this season.
At outside centre, North scored the first try of the Saints’ Heineken Cup win at Leinster and his shift creates one of three changes to the side that were convincingly beaten in Dublin in Round 2. Luke Williams fills North’s boots out wide, while scrum-half Rhys Webb and second row Luke Charteris also come into the side.
Victory against the previously unbeaten French would keep Wales’ hopes of retaining the Six Nations alive on a huge weekend for the tournament – England and Ireland also locking horns at Twickenham on Saturday.
You can see the 8pm kick off at the Millennium Stadium live on the BBC.
