Community News Hartley and Waldouck on shortlist for Aviva Community Player of the Season
Six inspirational rugby players who have made an outstanding contribution to the community have been shortlisted for the prestigious Aviva Community Player of the Season award, including the Saints' own Dylan Hartley and Dom Waldouck.
Club captain Hartley made the list after spearheading the saints' Movember campaign - one which saw the club end the month of November as Premiership Rugby's top fundraising club for men's health by some distance - a total of nearly £47,000.
Waldouck meanwhile sought to become involved with the Cube Disability during an injury lay off and continues to spend hours a week at the centre for adults with learning disabilities and autism in Northampton.
"Premiership Rugby's community work is lucky to be supported by over 600 professional players across our clubs, who look to enthuse and inspire communities while acting as fantastic role models to young local people," said Premiership Rugby's Community and CSR Director, Wayne Morris.
"From that huge group, these six have emerged following exceptional seasons off the field to make it on to this shortlist."
"We are very proud of our Community Programmes and of the efforts from all of the players involved. Picking the winner will be very difficult as they have all produced compelling cases."
