Rugby News Apia drama for Samoan Saints, Dolan features for USA
Following their extra-time epic with the Saints in the Aviva Premiership final, Kahn Fotuali’i and George Pisi were involved in another dramatic finish as Samoa and Tonga drew their opening Pacific Nation Cup fixture.
Both came on in the second half as an exciting finish unfolded, Tusi Pisi taking the hosts ahead with just 70 seconds left on the clock only for Tonga to haul things level one last time through an 82nd minute penalty.
Elsewhere, No.8 Cam Dolan and the USA had a tough time of it in Houston, going down 6-24 to Scotland at BBVA Compass Stadium.
There was also a Saints player in England’s squad for the 61st straight Test in New Zealand, but it was to be heartbreak for Stuart Lancaster’s men. Centre Conrad Smith finally broke the deadlock two minutes from time with the only try in the 20-15 result.
