Rugby News Four Saints in for England

England have drafted in half of their Saints contingent for the second Test against New Zealand this Saturday, Luther Burrell and Tom Wood starting and Dylan Hartley and Courtney Lawes also in the 23 for Dunedin.

Stuart Lancaster’s men went down to a late Conrad Smith try in the series opener and while all of the Aviva Premiership finalists are now available for selection, the head coach has decided against making wholesale changes.

There are still five in all, however, Burrell’s inclusion seeing Manu Tuilagi lurking on the wing and Wood joining skipper Chris Robshaw and Ben Morgan in the back row.

With hooker Rob Webber and lineout specialist Geoff Parling impressing in Auckland, Hartley and Lawes must bide their time for a chance from the replacements bench.

Other changes see the resumption of two fruitful partnerships from the Six Nations, Owen Farrell and Danny Care reunited as the half backs and Billy Twelvetrees linking up with Burrell in midfield.

England Head Coach Stuart Lancaster told the RFU Podcaast: “It’s been evident in training all along just how intense competition for places is but especially now we have the guys who arrived at the end of last week.

“We knew selection for this Test was always going to be tough, with the players who played at Eden Park putting their hands up and those who watched from the stands.

"I am sure it will be a fantastic occasion in Dunedin and we are really looking forward to challenging ourselves against the All Blacks. With the Crusaders game coming up around the corner and the third Test in Hamilton, all our squad will get opportunities which will be great experience as we continue to develop our depth in the build up to the World Cup."

The game is being shown live on Sky Sports.
