- Lewisham (England)
Given that he plays in one of the most uncompromising positions on the rugby field, Tom was certainly an early developer. The prop made his first team debut in the Heineken Cup aged just 18 and raced through the 50-appearance mark for Saracens. Now 25, he has also featured as an England Saxon over the past few years, most recently during the 2010 Six Nations.
Having made his debut in the 2010/11 season opening win over Leicester, Tom has been a matchday regular for the Saints in all competions and fully illustrated his scrummaging capabilites as a replacement in the Heineken Cup final against Leinster, as well as at the start of the 2011/12 campaign.
While he may go about his business realtively quietly, Tom's development was recognised by those who matter as he wrestled the number 3 shirt from Brian Mujati's grasp in early 2012/13.
The intense frsutration of injury saw that starting spot handed back almost immediately, but the tight-head stuck to his task and was back as a matchday regular shortly after a return to fitness.
