The Wanderers were ahead inside 90 seconds thanks to a lightning break from Anders Mogensen. The full back then showed a touch of class and awareness, guiding a subtle kick into the path of the Elliott for the game's first try.
The next was more of a team affair, Oxford unable to cope with the pace of the Wanderers attack and some lovely hands freeing Elliott again to slide in on the left.
It was in the same corner that Alex Wootton would score the third, but not until after 25 minutes where the Blues were right up in the Wanderers' faces, albeit without much joy on the attacking front. A penalty went to the corner and again an overlap emerged out wide that Elliott's young replacement was more than happy to take advantage of - Hooley adding his second conversion of the night.
Pressure quickly moved close to the Oxford line again but after John Carter was yellow carded for a string of penalty offences, the visitors just about held out as a one-sided half came to a close.
The Blues skipper was the next to make his mark on the match after the break too, albeit for a horrendous elbow tackle on Hooley that earned a straight red and fortunately caused no lasting damage to the Wanderers 10.
The extra man almost counted immediately, though after another Mogensen break Howard Packman was well tackled close to the visitors' line.
And so the half remained scoreless, the home side ringing the changes and dramatically reducing the average age right down into the teens.
One who continued to impress after scoring the home semi-sealing try last Monday night was Matt Williams. While the abrasive forward was racking up an impressive highlight reel of big hits, he was also the man to finally break the second half deadlock when the Wanderers rumbled over after the hour to make it 26-0.
That's how it remained, the young Wanderers pressing hard but to no avail and 14-man Oxford's efforts ensured the scoreline was comfortable, but not dishonourable.
