England head coach Rob Hunter has named an unchanged team from that which beat Ireland 46-15 in March. Then it was to claim a Six Nations Grand Slam. But in Treviso on Friday evening the journey starts for an England outfit that hopes to emulate their 2008 and 2009 predecessors who reached the IRB Junior World Championship final.

19-year-old Haywood certainly believes that the current England Under-20 vintage can go one step better and win the entire competition.

"Our aim is to win the competition," he told the Northampton Chronicle and Echo. "New Zealand have won every competition, but we believe we can beat them this year. We are absolutely determined to succeed.

"We had the best attack and defence of any England team in the Under-20 Six Nations. We scored more points and conceded the least amount, so we are feeling confident going into the tournament."
