Northampton Saints has named a 12-man squad for Friday night's leg of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby Sevens Series.
The Series has seen some excellent rugby be played at the Twickenham Stoop and Welford Road, and on Friday it is Franklin’s Gardens’ turn to host the brand new competition.
The Saints, Bath, Exeter Chiefs and Gloucester will battle it out for the right to join Saracens, Harlequins, Newcastle Falcons and Sale Sharks in the August 6th final, and Academy manager Alan Dickens is looking forward to a good atmosphere at the Gardens.
“We’re quite fortunate at Northampton that we’ve got excellent followers,” he said. “It gives them a taste of summer rugby as well. For the boys that are new to the club, it gives them a chance to play at Franklin’s Gardens, which is a great place to play, so I think it is positive all round.”
The Saints squad is dominated by members of the club’s Senior Academy, most of whom have already played for the Wanderers in the Premiership ‘A’ League. There is also a chance to welcome back former Saints, and current England Sevens players, John Brake and Tom Powell, to the Gardens.
Around 5,000 tickets have been snapped up for the evening, but there is still time for you to get yours and enjoy the action! Tickets cost just £5 for juniors, £10 for adults and £20 for families of four. Order online now by
