Double try scorer Ahsee Tuala hailed the Saints forwards following the Champions Cup win at Scotstoun and believes things are also starting to click behind the set piece.

In his first start of the season on the wing, the Samoan scored a try in either half after George Pisi had opened the scoring, before a fine rearguard effort kept the game well out of the Warriors’ reach.

“We knew it was going to be a tough task coming up here, so it’s nice to get the win,” he told SaintsTV. “There was a good feeling before the game and the boys were really excited. The forwards were awesome and we [the backs] also go involved in the game early on, getting our hands on the ball.

“I thought we had good energy in our defensive line and that really showed in the second half.”

While the ever smiling Tuala was delighted by the Saints’ second win from two in the Champions Cup, he also quickly turned his attentions back to the Premiership, with Gloucester the visitors next up at Franklins Gardens.

“We’ve picked up a lot of momentum with these two wins and a lot of confidence as well, so we’ll be looking to take that back with us to the Gardens next week under the lights.”
