Rather than running its own team that draws talent away from local clubs in the Northampton area, the Saints is committed to growing girls and women's rugby from the ground up, working with clubs and schools in introducing and developing new players to the sport.

So if you have been inspired by Rio 2016 to introduce rugby then get in touch!

As well as using our community coaches' wealth of experience to develop players within your club or school, we will also coach the coaches to give adults the confidence to deliver sessions week in, week out. And our wide range of contacts can help you put together a fixture list with other like-minded schools or clubs.

Then later in the year you can enter your school into the Elite Insurance Girls Sevens, the Saints' unique tournament for schools Rugby Sevens teams from across the East of England.

Typical sessions include an introduction to rugby, from basic ball skills and contact work, later developing into more complex game understanding, the set pieces of scrum and lineout, and putting together coherent patterns of play.

Sessions are designed for the specific needs of the groups that are being worked with, so if your school or club already has a girls or women's team that wants to improve then give us a call as well!
