ASM Clermont Auvergne vs Northampton Saints

Just enough time for the lineout but Saints disrupt it and play on.

Penalty Clermont at the breakdown and Fernandez sends it to touch.

Scrappy at tje restart and Betham just manages to collect the ball. Clermont play on.

Clermont keep coming and Saints have to put a monumental effort in to keep them held. 

Clermont go quickly from the lineout but Saints hold them well. 

Another solid scrum and Clermont have to use it. They come forwards but knock the ball on and Saints come forwards. But as Ribbans is pushed into touch Lacey calls advantage over and Clermont will have the lineout.

Clermont get a hand to the ball at the lineout and play on. Laidlaw boxes and the ball comes forwards of Reinach's hands. Scrum Clermont.

Laidlaw clears and Saints will have the lineout.

Solid scrum from Saints and Clermont are forced to use it. But Reinach rips the ball. He chips over the top but Clermont just get there first. They're having to push out of their own 22 now though.

Not straight at the lineout from Saints and Clermont will have the scrum.

Grayson sends the kick into touch for a lineout inside Clermont's half.

Penalty Saints as the restart as Clermont are penalised for a high tackle.

Kellaway replaces Tuala as we get things restarted.

They're over the line and we're with the TMO to see if they've scored...

Penalty Saints at the scum and Reinach goes quickly. Saints are within inches now...

Clermont maul but Saints hold the ball up and earn the scrum.

Scrappy at the lineout but Saints hold onto possession. Harrison makes some yards before Grayson chips through. Lineout Clermont back in their own 22. 

Wood replaces Ratuniyarawa as we set the lineout.

Clermont use the ball quickly from the lineout and are attacking Saints' 22 now.

Penalty Saints at the breakdown after an impressive effort in defence! Grayson sends the penalty into touch for a lineout inside Clermont's half.

Waller replaces van Wyk as we set the lineout.

Advatange coming for Clermont at the penalty and when the ball goes loose just after, we come back for the penalty. Lopez sends it to touch for a lineout on Saints' 22.

Ribbans breaks to get over the halfway line but a huge hit on the lock sees he loose the ball forwards. Scrum Clermont.

Clermont somehow secure the ball but knock the ball on and Saint play on.

Scrappy at the restart but Clermont secure it. Lopez sends the ball high and Grayson is there. Saints push on again.

Clermont secure the restart but Saints push them back. Yato breaks and he's got Betham in support too...

Saints steal the lineout and come forwards once more. Ratuniyarawa breaks and Tuala makes some more yards to get Saints up to halfway.

Marshall replaces Fish as we set this lineout.

Advatange Clermont at the lineout and though we play on for a time, we eventually come back for it. Lopez sends it to touch for a lineout just inside Saints' half. 

Franks and Reinach enter play as we set the lineout, with Painter and Mitchell making way.

Lopez's penalty doesn't find touch and Naiyaravoro come storming forwards. But he's deemed to be holding on as well and Clermont make the penalty stick in touch this time. Lineout Clermont.

Clermont look to maul at the lineout but Saints hold them. They use the ball but Saints come forwards and Collins hacks the loose ball forwards. He races Betham for it and Dingwall is there too. The centre secures it but is pinged for holding on. 

Van Wyk breaks through but is isolated and Clermont earn the penalty at the breakdown. Lopez sends it to touch.

Lawes takes the restart and Saints begin again. Harrison barges forwards before Mitchell has a go. They're up to halfway now and keep coming.

Short from Saints at the restart and Lawes scoops up the loose ball. Fish barrels forwards out wide to get Saints moving again and they keep pushing on. 

Naiyaravoro takes the restart and barges his way out of Saints' 22. Saints keep pushing but Ribbans just knocks on in contact. Clermont play on.

Ribbans is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards... 

No try says referee Lacey and we come back for the penalty from the advantage. Grayson sends it to the corner.

Advantage coming for Saints and Lawes finds Brüssow. The back row finds Mitchell with a brilliant offload and the scrum half is over the line. We're with the TMO to see if he's scored...

Saints turn the ball over at the scrum and use it quickly. Dingwall and Naiayaravoro get the ball up to Clermont's five metre and Saints keep pushing.

Naiyaravoro takes the high ball and offloads to Brüssow who charges forwards. Saints come out to the midfield and keep pushing but Ratuniyarawa just looses the ball in contact. Scrum Clermont.

Saints work their way up to Clermont's 22 before bringing the ball wide. Tuala chips through but  - unluckily for him - the ball just bounces dead. 22 drop Clermont.

Good pressure from Saints at the  restart and Parra chip through. Collins collects and Saints play on.

Saints are back in Clermont's half and Naiyaravoro is through. He sees off several defenders but knocks on as he tries to offload. Scrum Clermont.

Lawes and Ribbans keep pushing forwards and get up to Clermont's 22 but the ball is turned over and Clermont come forwards.

Saints come wide quickly but Collins is taken down. Saints keep pushing out of their 22 though. Harrison charges forwards and Saints are back in Clermont's half now.

Tuala pressures well at the restart again and Parra boxes clear. His kick is long though and Saints will have the lineout but just outside their own 22.

Clermont try to maul but Saints hold them. The maul collapses though and Saints are deemed to be at fault. Penalty Clermont and Lopez clears to touch. Lineout Clermont on halfway.

Saints turn the ball over at the restart and whip the ball wide. Dingwall charges forwards but he's just pushed into touch. Lineout Clermont back in their own 22.

Another good scrum and Brüssow pressures at the base but is deemed to have done so illegally. Penalty Clermont and Parra points for the posts.

Saints are back in possession though as they collect the loose ball and they work their way out of their 22. The ball comes wide to Brüssow who chips over the top. Clermont kick it back at them though. Grayson's pass to Tuala is deemed forwards though and Clermont have the scrum.

The get the ball wide but Tuala rushes up and just knocks the last pass into touch. His actions are deemed illegal though and Clermont have the penalty which they sends to touch.

Loose hands from Clermont just after the lineout but they keep the ball. And they begin an assault of Saints' 22.

Ribbans is up for the lineout and Saints are attacking hard again. Grayson gets things over the halfway line and but Painter is isolated and Clermont earn the penalty at the breakdown just after. Lopez sends it to touch for a lineout just outside Saints' 22.

Saints get the ball wide quickly once again and push their way forwards. Tuala gets them up to the Clermont 22 but Dingwall's offload to Harrison is deemed forwards. Scrum Clermont on their own 22.

Saints hold their own at the scrum and then scoop up the loose ball just after. Grayson clears and Lopez returns - the latter finding touch. Lineout Saints.

Saints earn a lineout as Clermont whip the ball too wide but Saints just knock the ball on there. Scrum Clermont.

Clermont make another change, with Chouly entering play for Cancoriet.

Saints playing with the advantage from the restart as Clermont knock the ball on. And come forwards but the advantage is soon over and Clermont get their hands on the ball and earn a penalty. Parra sends it to touch.

Saints come forwards again from the restart and Burrell and Dingwall team up out wide to get Saints up to halfway. Collins breaks and Brüssow is in support to get Saints up to Clermont's five metre but they get turned over there. Clermont break through and there's space in behind here...

Penaud leaves the field as we reset, with Lamerat coming into play.

Burrell is nearly through off the back of the lineout and Mitchell pushes forwards. It comes wide the other way...

Harrison collects the loose ball at the restart and Saints push on. But they're turned over at the next phase and Lopez clears to touch. Lineout Saints on halfway.

The home side make it up to Saints' 22 and whip the ball wide quickly...

Saints collect the kick-off and clear but Clermont keep the ball in play and come forwards. Lopez sends a cross field kick over to Grosso but Collins holds him. The home side bring it back the other way though and keep coming.
