Wasps vs Northampton Saints

Strachan charges up the middle before the forwards take over. Saints are building the phases round the five metre now.

With the clock run down, we set for the scrum. 

Solid scrum and Saints pressure well. Wasps knock on though and Saints will have the scrum!

Ratuniyarawa is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards. The away side look good but as it collapses the ball is held up. Scrum Wasps on their own five metre. 

Grayson sends it deep into touch and Saints have the lineout on Wasps' five metre.

Penalty Saints at the scrum!!

The ball comes wide to Naiyaravoro and he finds Dingwall. The centre appears to chip it forwards but it's deemed a knock on and we set for the scrum. 

Free kick Saints at the scrum and they opt for another scrum. 

Wasps get up to disrupt the lineout and push on again. The ball comes loose though and we'll have the scrum. 

Gillespie breaks to get Saints out of their own 22 before Ratuniyarawa takes it further. Things come out wide and slow there, forcing Tupai to box. Wasps play on and work their way back into Saints' 22 before the away side turn over. Grayson sends a cross field over to Naiyaravoro and though Wasps just get there first, Big T pushes his opposite man into touch. Lineout Saints. 

Trinder, Tupai and Gillespie - who becomes Saints' youngest debutant of the professional era at 18 years and 16 days old - all come on for their debut, replacing Van Wyk, Davies and Sleightholme respectively. 

... sends the kick - from back near halfway - too short though and Saints have the 22 drop.

After a few resets, we get things underway. Saints get things wide to Naiyarvoro again but he's taken down. They're coming forwards well but concede at the breakdown. Searle points for the posts.

Wasps look to come forwards but knock on and Saints have the scrum near halfway.

Saints play on from the lineout but knock on in contact and Wasps play on. 

Penalty Saints at the breakdown off the back of the lineout. Grayson sends it into touch and Saints have the lineout on halfway. 

Saints come forwards again before boxing clear. Wasps play on though and earn a penalty just after. Searle sends it to touch. 

Garside replaces Franks as we get things back underway. 

Grayson sends the touchline conversion just wide though and we restart. 

Wasps look to maul from the lineout but get nowhere. They come wide but Saints scramble back. The ball comes loose and Coles is in chase. Saints somehow manage to get the ball back though and are close...

Barrow takes his leave as we set things, with Coles entering play for his debut in Black, Green and Gold. 

A good period of pressure from Saints is ended though as Wasps earn a penalty. Searle sends it to touch. 

Gibson is up for the lineout and Saints come forwards again. 

Saints are attacking again now and Kellaway makes good yards as he scrambled forwards. Marshall breaks through but his offload finds Wasps' hands. Searle clears and Saints will have the lineout just outside Wasps' 22. 

Wasps come wide again but Saints scramble back. Onojaife collects the loose ball and Saints come forwards again before Davies boxes clear. 

Onojaife replaces Ryan as we set the lineout.

Saints come forwards off the back of the scrum, with Kellaway getting things back up to the 22. Grayson clears long and Wasps will have the lineout on halfway. 

Furbank makes way for Naiyaravoro as we set for the scrum. 

Wasps are still pushing and look to come wide but knock on there. Scrum Saints. 

Porter breaks for Wasps and gets them up to the 22 before Davies and Furbank halt him in his tracks. Wasps play on and come wide again, looking for a gap.

Saints clear the restart and Wasps come forwards again. 

Fish takes his leave as we restart, with Marshall entering the game. 

Barrow is up for the lineout and Kellaway storms forwards off the base. And Saints earn a penalty at the breakdown just after too. Grayson points for the posts.

Wasps get up for the restart but as they come wide Kellaway knocks his opposite man into touch. Lineout Saints just outside Wasps' 22. 

The ball comes loose at the scrum but Willis dives on it. Wasps come back into the midfield before pushing Saints' defence with the phases. 

Scrappy at the lineout as Saints get up to disrupt the lineout. They are deemed to have knocked the ball on there though and Wasps will have the scrum on Saints' five metre. 

Saints defence holds but they concede a penalty there. Searle kicks to the corner. 

Advantage coming for Wasps at the scrum but they play on. Working wide they make it up to Saints' 22 and are pushing. 

Scrappy ball after the lineout and we come back for a knock on there. Scrum Wasps. 

McIntyre enters play as we set the lineout, with West takes his leave. 

Saints defend well though and earn a penalty at the breakdown. Grayson sends it to touch and we'll have a lineout inside Wasps' half.

Wasps come forwards off the lineout before whipping wide. The ball comes back the other way though after there's little space for them. They make more ground on the other side before coming back inside again.

Saints collect the restart and Davies boxes clear. Lineout Wasps on halfway. 

One change for Wasps as we restart: Watson leaves with James taking his place.

Searle gets us restarted here at the Ricoh!

Wasps play the phases and though Saints defend well, the scrum goes Wasps' way.

Wasps go short with the lineout and then look for the maul. Saints hold them for a time but the maul breakdown after some good work from Saints. Wasps keep hold of the ball though and keep pressing.

Wasps' hooker Oghre takes a large hit in the build up and is replaced by Harris as we set for the lineout.

Davies gets over the ball again but with Ratuniyarawa stuck in the ruck, Wasps get the penalty. 

Wasps pick up off the back of the scrum and use it quickly. It comes wide to Watson but he's taken by Furbank. Wasps slow things down and play the phases, slowly making more yards. 

Davies looks to box but is charged down. Scrum Wasps for the knock on. 

Saints get up and steal the lineout. The come forwards over the halfway line before Grayson sends the highball up. Wasps just get there first though and Hampson boxes it. Saints are there to take it though and we play on.

Grayson clears off the back of the lineout and Wasps will have the lineout back at halfway.

The ball comes wide and Wasps make it into Saints' 22 but knock on there. Scrum Saints.

Wasps come wide off the lineout and look to come forwards but Ryan and Ratuniyarawa slow things in the midfield.

Watson races in but is taken down by Furbank and Davies. And the scrum-half earns the turnover again before clearing to touch. Lineout Wasps. 

Another overthrow from Saints at the lineout and Wasps play on. They earn a penalty at the breakdown and take it quickly. The ball comes wide to Watson but Saints slow things there. Wasps continue to press though and make their way over Saints' 22.

Wasps maul but Saints work hard to hold them for some time. Willis breaks off but Gibson and Eadie hold him up and Saints earn the scrum. 

Advantage coming for Wasps and eventually we come back to it. Searle send it into the corner again.

Saints chip through and Wasps return but Grayson can't quite get there. Saints penalised for being offside and Searle sends it into touch. Lineout Wasps in Saints' 22. 

More pressure from Saints at the lineout and Davies earn another turnover. Scrum Saints.

Saints get a good shove on at the scrum and pressure Wasps well. But the home side still have the ball and are pushing hard. But good defence from Saints forces an error from Wasps. Saints secure the loose ball and Davies boxes clear. Lineout Wasps.

Free kick Wasps at the scrum as Saints go early. The home team choose to go for the scrum again.

Searle chips through as Wasps make little ground in attack. Dingwall gets up and though Wasps come away with the ball, they knock on. Scrum Saints.

Wasps get up for the restart but pressure from Saints forces them to maul. The ball comes out and Searle chips through. Furbank is there and he returns it. Searle decides to play this time and Wasps come forwards.

Grayson collects kick and sends it back. Sleightholme pressure the high ball well and Saints regained possession. But as the ball came wide, Saints knock on and we have a scrum. 

Barrow up for the lineout and Saints get this one away. Davies scoops the ball from the base of the ruck and darts forwards. But Wasps' defence hold. Grayson goes for the drop goal but the wind carries it wide. 22 drop for Wasps.

Overthrow from Saints at the lineout and Wasps collect. Hampson boxes clear and Saints will have the lineout back outside Wasps' 22. 

Penalty Saints as Wasps don't release when the maul breaks down.  Grayson sends it into the corner for another lineout.

Barrow is up for the lineout and Saints maul forwards.

Wasps look to get the ball away quickly but Saints push their defence up. Wasps are forced to box and though Sleightholme is there he's taken in the air. Penalty Saints.

Saints look to get the ball wide but Dingwall takes a large hit from the opposition. Saints keep the ball though and Furbank punts it through to touch. Lineout Wasps back in their own 22. 

Debutant Ryan is up for the lineout and Saints quickly get things back over the halfway line. Grayson sends a high ball up and Furbank is there to take it. 

Good pressure from Davies again earns Saints another penalty. Grayson sends this one into touch and Saints have the lineout on halfway. 

Wasps look to move the ball quickly and barge their way up to Saints' 22 before coming wide to Watson. He's taken down but Willis makes it into Saints' 22 just after.

Wasps look to come forwards off the restart but Saints push up in defence and Davies gets over the ball and earns the penalty. Grayson sends it into touch but it's too long and goes dead. Scrum Wasps.
