Anglo-Welsh Cup: How things stand

Travis PerkinsSponsored by Travis Perkins

Sitting just behind Sarcens at the top of Pool 1, Saints return home to Franklin’s Gardens to host Scarlets in the final fixture in the pool stages of the Anglo-Welsh Cup this Friday night.

Despite last weekend’s tough loss to Leicester Tigers at Welford Road, Saints still have everything to play for as they prepare for the first Friday Night Lights game at the Gardens since before Christmas.

With Leicester Tigers having already qualified from Pool 4, Scarlets cannot make it to the knock-out stages of this season’s Anglo-Welsh Cup campaign but Saints, should they secure a victory on Friday night, go into Friday’s game still able to push for a semi-final place.

While various permutations of results could affect Saints' chances, the men in black, green and gold’s best chance of making it through to the knock-out stages lies in a win over Scarlets.

Though having to wait until Sunday to know of their definite qualification, should Saints beat Scarlets, and with bonus point, they put themselves in the best possible position for a semi-final place.

Therefore, Saints need the support of the #SaintsNation more than ever as they play host to Scarlets on Friday night.

Tickets for the game are still available and start from just £19. Make your voice count by CLICKING HERE to get behind the boys on Friday night.
