Saints' Academy winger Ollie Sleightholme has just claimed a silver medal in the rugby sevens at this year's Commonwealth Youth games.

Breezing into the gold medal match with ease after winning four of their five opening games, but were to be pitted against the only side that had beaten them in the competition so far, Samoa, for a tough final at Queen Elizabeth Sporting Complex in the Bahamas.

Samoa had the upper hand at the break with a try from Vasui, who would have added another on the stroke of half time had the English defence not have been tight.

Though Samoa's tally was kept to one score at the turnaround, the Pacific Islanders wasted no time in doubling it at the second half got underway, through Frank.

But a spirited fight back from England, proved to be a glimmer of hope.

Saints' own Ollie Sleightholme was the catalyst to England's counter, dotting down in the corner after receiving  quick ball following a penalty against Samoa for offside.

A missed conversion kept it a five point game, but Samoa proved to be too strong an opposition and the Islanders held out for their second win over England in the competition, meaning England claimed the silver medal.
