The next two good causes that will benefit from the stadiummk Charities Day have been announced by the Saints.

The Saints’ management is using the big Aviva Premiership clash with Saracens on Sunday, April 16th to raise funds and awareness for 15 charities, who will each have their logo on one of the starting 15’s shirts, have a stand on the concourse at stadiummk and receive 20 percent of the proceeds of all tickets that they sell for the match.

Charities were nominated by Saints supporters, players and staff, with nearly 800 nominations received in all by the club, and the 15 that have been selected represent a broad cross-section of causes.

These two good causes are:

EMILY’S STAR Emily’s Star was set up in memory of Emily Mainwaring, who was born with Edwards Syndrome, a genetic disorder which occurs in around one in every 5,000 live births. Many of those affected die before birth and fewer than 10 percent of babies with the syndrome survive for more than a year. Emily lost her own battle after 26 days, and her parents are now raising funds to support Children with Complex Needs Nurses and their families across the UK.

SARCOMA UK Sarcomas are rare cancers that develop in the muscle, bone, nerves, cartilage, tendons, blood vessels and the fatty and fibrous tissues. They can affect almost any part of the body, on the inside or the outside. Sarcoma is very rate, but around 3,800 new cases are diagnosed each year in the UK and much more research needs to be done to fully understand how these cancers develop and how best to diagnose and treat them. No one here at the Saints will forget the brave battle against sarcoma fought by Luis Ghaut, the team’s mascot at the 2014 Aviva Premiership final.

Supporters can order tickets in any area of the stadium through their chosen charity, with ticket prices starting at just £15.
