Haywood: Worcester game is massive

Heading back into the Aviva Premiership after two weekends out with the Anglo-Welsh Cup, Saints make the trip to Worcester Warriors for the eighth round of the competition this Saturday.

Despite the fact that Worcester are yet to win a game in the Aviva Premiership this season, Mikey Haywood said that Saints are travelling to Sixways still wary of the threats the Warriors pose across the park.

"It's going to be a massive game," the Saints hooker told SaintsTV earlier this week.

"We're currently sitting in sixth place but getting a win at the weekend could push us right back up to the top."

Haywood said that Saints must tighten up their game to make sure they perform well and push back up the league into one of the desired top four spots.

"We've looked at their scrum. They've got a big pack and it's an area that we wanted to target for us to improve on. Also, our defence, we've looked at that this week too. Hopefully we can go and put in a good performance this week away at Worcester.

"They haven't won a game this year so they're going to fighting to get that first win. For us, it's just going there and making sure that we put the best performance in we can."

After two crucial weekends on the road at first Worcester and then Sale, Saints will be back home to host Newcastle Falcons in the Aviva Premiership on 1 December.
