Back rower Ollie Newman first joined up with Saints as part of the Senior Academy ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Newman had previously represented the Club in the 2018 Premiership Rugby Sevens before a shoulder injury curtailed his 2018/19 season with Northampton’s Under-18s.
However Saints’ coaches noticed his potential nonetheless and Newman signed his first professional contract with the Club at the end of the campaign, before turning out in Saints' Premiership Rugby Sevens side in the summer of 2019.
The back row made several appearances for Wanderers in the Premiership Rugby Shield in 2020 before joining Bedford Blues on loan as part of Saints' strategic partnership with the Championship outfit.
And the back rower's good performances during the 2020/21 season were rewarded with a senior debut in Saints' last outing of the term against Bath.
