Biography

Tom Pearson began his rugby journey in Herefordshire, playing youth rugby at Bromyard RFC and Luctonians before progressing through Gloucester’s academy. He then moved to Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he made 42 appearances in BUCS Super Rugby and Welsh domestic competition – earning selection in the BUCS Super Rugby Team of the Year.

Ahead of the 2021/22 season, Pearson joined London Irish’s academy, quickly stepping into the senior squad. He made 39 appearances over two seasons, scored ten tries, won the club’s Young Player of the Year award, and was named PREM Rugby’s Breakthrough Player of the Season and the RPA’s Young Player of the Year in 2022/23.

In June 2023, Pearson signed for Northampton Saints following London Irish being placed into administration. He made his Saints debut at the start of the 2023/24 campaign, and in his first season featured in 21 matches across PREM and Investec Champions Cup, scoring seven tries (including a memorable hat-trick against Aviron Bayonnais) and helping the team secure the PREM title and reach the Champions Cup semi-finals.

After an injury late in the 2024/25 campaign ruled him out of the Club’s appearance in the Champions Cup Final, Pearson played on 22 occasions in 2025/26 and was part of the starting XV in the PREM final against Exeter Chiefs as Northampton made it two titles in three seasons.

Internationally, Pearson was called into England’s Six Nations training camp in early 2022, capped in a World Cup warm‑up match against Wales in August 2023, and later featured for England A during the 2024/25 campaign.
