Freddie St John was announced as part of Northampton Saints’ intake for the Senior Academy ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The former Oakham School pupil helped Northampton to lift the 2025 Premiership Rugby U18 Academy League trophy, as the side defeated Bath Rugby 31-14 at Kingsholm Stadium.

And the centre’s sporting prowess stretches beyond just rugby. His cricketing skills saw him progress through the Leicestershire CCC age grades before heading down to Clifton College in Bristol on a rugby and cricket scholarship.

Having chosen the oval-ball game, St John was rewarded with a senior Saints debut off the bench against Leicester Tigers in January 2026 in the PREM Rugby Cup, one of three appearances he made in the competition in the 2025/26 season.
