England U20 name five Saints players in squad for Bath United friendly

England U20 have picked five Northampton Saints players in their matchday squad for this weekend’s fixture against Bath United.

In what is their only warm-up game ahead of the 2026 Under-20 Men’s Six Nations Championship opener against Wales at cinch Stadium at Franklin’s Gardens on Friday 6 February – tickets are available for that game by clicking HERE – England U20 head to the Rec this Saturday (kick-off: 2pm) with four young Saints in their starting line-up.

The uncapped duo of fullback James Pater and centre Henry Lumley feature in the backs while prop Oliver Scola and back row Aiden Ainsworth-Cave – both with nine U20 caps each – pack down in the forwards, with uncapped forward Sonny Tonga’uiha awaiting his opportunity to impress as a replacement.

Andy Titterrell, England U20 Men’s head coach, said: “We’ve been really committed in how we’ve prepared over this two-week block, and this weekend is about showing the courageous edge we expect in an England shirt.

“The players have built strong connections on and off the field in Portugal and this week in Swindon too, and that trust will be vital in how we play over the coming months.

“Above all, we want to be relentless in our work rate and standards as we build momentum toward the Six Nations.”
